Lawn Hill and other adventures....

Wednesday 5th - Thursday 6th April, 2017

Boodjamulla NP 0316.svg     Lawn Hill National Park is situated on the Qld/N.T border, 100 k's west of Gregory Downs.

We stayed at Adel's Grove, (although you can stay in the National Park)  for the better amenities, we were there for three nights, and it is only 7.5 k's from the park.

There are many bush walks, and the Lawn Hill Gorge is spectacular.

The landscape is rocky and dry, very similar to the Flinders Ranges, and reminiscent of the Grampians.

We completed several of the walks, the scenery is awesome.   The weather has continued to be hot and dry.   The days have been consistently be in the high 30's, so we have tried not to be walking in the hottest part of the day.

Some of the walks are in "mountain goat" territory......but the views are well worth the effort....

The Gregory River has cut through the landscape and created towering cliffs and an environment teeming with life.

If you keep your eyes open you may even find one of these little guys.....

In the afternoon we took in the shaded and relaxing area which is 'The Grove".    While Bev elected to enjoy the benefits of liquid on the outside......I opted to take my 'liquid' internally....

Thursday morning saw us take in another walk, which took us once again through the rugged landscape, to the Indarra Falls.

These falls are just beautiful, and many people elect to canoe up the river to view them.

If only we had a boat.....we would be able to traverse the gorge, take in its beauties, and enjoy the tranquility of cruising the river.............

HANG ON..........we have a boat.......yes folks got the boat in the water, and even more amazing got Bev IN the boat.....

I'll let the pictures do the talking.................

After an amazing afternoon......back to camp ready for another adventure tomorrow.
