Well here we are...... after 32 days, 7817 kilometres, 4 States, 1 Territory, 2 gulfs, several river crossings and a heap of fun......home again!
With only a couple of minor inconveniences we have survived our first major trip with the (now not so) new van. Apart from about 3kg of dust to clean off/out of the van(and car) we are very pleased with how the trip went.
Watching the sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria, driving (and camping on) the Birdsville Track, the numerous museums, boat rides, even the Burketown Camooweal Road have all been great experiences.
It has been interesting to visit such places as Bourke, Winton, Longreach, Birdsville, places that have been written about and have become the stuff of legend.
We free camped in some great spots.....
We saw planes,
trains.......
and automobiles....
Good roads, bad roads and some almost roads......all in all, it was a great trip. We stopped and did the touristy things, saw a lot of interesting places, sunrises, sun sets, rivers, trees, farmland and desert...... We cannot wait to hook up the van again and head off on another adventure.....who knows maybe I'll do another blog..... so you can come along too.
Safe travels..... Bev and Trev.....
